Silent Online ART AUCTION

June 29, 2017

The preliminary discussions determined that the bidding would begin at a price determined by the artist; with the artist's understanding that half the value of the winning bid would go towards the building fund of the Creative Space Initiative (CSI).

The deadline for submissions will be the first Friday in August (August 4) and the winning bids will be announced at our fund raising event, The Boogie Woogie arty Party, Sunday, September 10, between 4 and 7.

Submissions can be made to and must include a high resolution jpeg digital image. I am about to develop a suitable form that will provide us with the information we need to market submissions on line. The appropriate information plus the digital image will be placed on our website. The website will also have the ability to receive bids for each artwork.

If the artist does not have the ability to produce a digital image of his or her work than arrangements can be made to have this done in our office.

The submissions might also be used by NAC to promote the Auction, and the Boogie Woogie arty Party on social media. Since our social media connects to a number of people outside the Nanaimo area we hope that this becomes another opportunity for artists to reach beyond this market and promote themselves on an international stage.

If you can think of anymore issues that might need to be addressed, before we proceed too much further, please let me know.

Thank you for your support and interest,

Dan Appell

General Manager of the Nanaimo Arts Council
