The Ladysmith Camera Club starts its eleventh full membership year this January by announcing a new executive and a focus on "creative photography." The executives for 2018 are Glennys LaRose, president; Al McMillan, vice president; Jim Mitchell, secretary; Lindsey Woods, treasurer; Charlie Schaal, member-at- large and Sue Williams in charge of programming.
The club attracts members from as far away as Nanaimo and Duncan who appreciate the
friendly, down-to- earth approach to fostering the appreciation & sharing of the photographic
arts. In 2018, the club's program will spotlight the creative facet of photography, with
presentations and activities intended to inspire and spark the artist in each of us.
Kicking off the year on January 23 will be "Creative Photography," a presentation by Lorna
Zaback, retired Malaspina Maths teacher. Lorna captures the beauty of the world around her
with her digital camera, and then uses these photographs as the foundation for her highly
expressive works of art that are rich in colour, texture and movement. In her presentation,
Lorna will share and discuss the many possibilities for personal creativity through

Founded in 2008, the Ladysmith Camera Club exists to promote the appreciation and sharing
of all things photographic in the greater Ladysmith area. The club meets on the 4th Tuesday
of each month at 7:00pm at Hardwick Hall, High Street at 3rd Avenue, in Ladysmith. The
public is invited. There is a guest drop-in fee of $5 for non-members. The LCC welcomes new
