Brechin United Church

Sunday, March 18, 2018, 2:30pm

Knox United Church (Parksville)

Our guest artist is pianist, Sarah Hagen,

to play Gerald Finzi’s pastoral “Eclogue” and to premiere “Esplanade: In Memory of the Seven and the Seven” – a work written by PEI University faculty member, Richard Covey expressly for

Sarah and the NCO. It is a poignant piece that honours the seven miners who survived the 1887 coal mine disaster in Nanaimo, and also the seven who were never found.  Also on the program, the Orchestra will play Elgar’s “Great Malvern Suite”, Nielsen’s “Bohemian-Danish Folktune”, and Bruch’s “Serenade on a Swedish Folkmelody”.
