Filmmakers from across Canada and around the world are invited to enter their short films for the 14th annual Vancouver Island Short Film Festival (VISFF).
Last year, the Nanaimo-based film festival received a record-breaking 127 entries from 19 countries.
“We’re so excited to see what sorts of films will be submitted this year, and from where,” said VISFF Director Karla Duarte. “Our audience was really enthusiastic about the range of genres and countries represented by the final 18 films we screened last year.”
Duarte says showcasing local films alongside international entries is helping to raise VISFF’s profile in the filmmaking community, which is in turn attracting a higher caliber of entries.
Deadline - November 16, 2018
Films must be 12 minutes or fewer, including credits.
Entries remain free for local filmmakers, and two festival spots will be reserved for films made on Vancouver Island.
For information on submitting a local film, filmmakers are encouraged to contact email@example.com.
For all other filmmakers, the early-bird entry fee of $25 per film is in effect until October 12th. Films can be submitted through the FilmFreeway link at www.visff.com.
VISFF will take place February 1 & 2, 2019, at Vancouver Island University’s Malaspina Theatre in Nanaimo, BC
