Submissions are open for a new international flash prose contest that will showcase writing talent from around the world.
Griffin Poetry Prize-winning poet Jane Munro will be the judge of the 2018 Flash Prose Contest. Sponsored by the Federation of British Columbia Writers, the Flash Prose Contest is a competition for original, unpublished short stories.
The word length is anything below 650 words, and either fiction or non-fiction are allowed. Stories must be written in English.
We welcome your submission and especially encourage young writers and writers from diverse or indigenous communities to submit.
First prize is $350.
The entry fee is $15. Members of the FBCW pay only $10 to enter.
Entrants should use Submittable to submit their entries.
The name of the entrant must not appear anywhere on the entry itself. There is a separate place on the Submittable form for personal information, which must include your email so we can reach you.
Work must be original and not previously published anywhere.
Submissions must be in MS Word, PDF or RTF format, in a standard 12 Point font.

The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2018
The shortlist will be published on October 15, 2018
Winners will be announced on October 31, 2018
The winning entry will be published in WordWorks, the magazine of the FBCW
Directors of the FBCW and their immediate family are not eligible to enter.
