The 2019 Studio Tour — the 23rd annual! — takes place on October 12-13-14.
Registration for artists will take place
January 7 – 31, 2019. No registrations will be accepted after the January 31 deadline.
In-person registration will be available at the Gabriola Arts & Heritage Centre on January 7 and 14, from 12 noon to 4 pm. Payment will be accepted via cash, cheque, or credit card.
Online registration opens on January 7 at 12 noon. Check this link to access the registration system on January 7 at noon.
Registration will be capped at 85 studios, including both primary and guest studios. Register early so you're not disappointed.
Registration Fees for both Primary and Guest Studios:
Early Bird (until January 16): $225
Regular (January 17 to January 31): $245
First-time Discount: $145 [only ten spaces available at this rate]
GAC Membership: $15
Participating artists are required to be members of GAC. This fee must be paid when you register (unless you have already paid your 2019 membership fees).
Tour Central Participation: $20
You can include a piece of your work in the exhibit at Tour Central (the Gabriola Arts & Heritage Centre). This is optional but highly recommended. This is one of the best ways to promote your studio to visitors to the Island on Tour weekend. GAC does not take a commission for works sold at the gallery.
Creative Directory: no additional charge
The registration fee includes a Creative Directory page (value: $25) on the GAC website. Studio Tour artists are required to submit information for the directory as this helps visitors to determine which artists they want to visit.
Types of Participation:
PRINCIPAL STUDIO: if you are displaying and demonstrating your work from your own home or studio, you are a Principal Studio.
GUEST ARTIST: if you display your work at the home or studio of another registered Principal Studio, you are a Guest Artist. Your Studio number will be the same as that of your host Principal Studio, your registration fee is the same, and you receive the same size and format listing in the Studio Tour brochure and on the GAC website.
If you are a Principal Studio looking for a Guest Artist or a Guest Artist looking for a Studio, let us know and we will try to facilitate some perfect partnerships.
FIRST-TIME ARTIST: if you have never participated as an artist in the Thanksgiving Studio Tour, you are eligible for a one-time First-Time Artist reduced fee. Ten (10) of these reduced-fee spots are available. Once these spots are full, first-time artists may also register as either a Principal Studio or Guest Artist at the early-bird or regular rates.
Information about your brochure write-up, image, and map placement will be included on the registration page and at the in-person registration sessions.
